The main goal of the Eurasian Insights: Strengthening Indo-Pacific Studies in Europe project is to strengthen Indo-Pacific studies. As the vast Indo-Pacific region receives increasing attention from both policymakers and scholars, there is a growing demand for a better understanding of the region provided by the expanding research area of Indo-Pacific studies. For the purposes of the project, Indo-Pacific studies are defined as a multidisciplinary research area focused on the political, economic, and social developments in the Indo-Pacific region. The concept of Indo-Pacific originally stems from geography and includes the areas of two oceans: the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, excluding the coasts of the Americas and the polar regions.
